Recording outdoors takes more than serious know-ho Recording outdoors takes more than serious know-how, it takes courage 😅 Anyone can make their clients sound good in a studio, but what does it look like when you have absolutely no control over your recording environment?

For the new Global South Climate Tech podcast, we flew across the world to Dubai to record the season’s 7 interviews on-location at #COP28, the largest COP in history and one of the most controversial. 

Our recording location wasn’t just a place or a time, it was a *character*. We knew we had to at least try to capture the energy, the vibrancy, the essence of being there. Which is why we decided to record the last two interviews...outside. Right there in the middle of Expo City.

Luckily, #FRQNCYMedia isn’t new to traveling, outdoor, or on-location production work.

It may have been a brave move, but wow, did it pay off! Not only did this accomplish our goal of capturing the energy of COP28, but it also upped the recording experience for both our hosts and guests. Everyone was smiling ear to ear after these sessions!

Here’s a look at some of the process.

Michelle Khouri is the CEO & Founder of FRQNCY Media, host of The Cultured Podcast, and executive producer for Total Refresh, Raising the Torch, InCharge With DVF, Hidden Voices, and several podcasts in development. Michelle has felt a deep connection to the world of sound since she was a toddler. She was a trained singer and musical theater performer before briefly working in A&R for Interscope Records. A decade-long career in marketing and communications unfolded before she founded FRQNCY Media, a first-of-its-kind company that seeks to democratize high-quality and intentional podcast production. Since opening for business in 2018, FRQNCY has worked with Coca-Cola, Apple, the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Diane von Furstenberg, Grady Hospital, SalesLoft, and many others.
