Who We Are

A Narrative-First Studio Working in Documentary Form

FRQNCY is an editorial storytelling studio working in documentary audio and video. We partner with organizations navigating complex subjects, where clarity, context, and narrative judgment matter most.

Our work spans public-facing series, internal storytelling, and original longform projects. Engagements range from full production leadership to editorial strategy and system design, depending on the needs and scale of the project.

Built for Scale and Editorial Consistency

FRQNCY operates with a core team responsible for maintaining consistency in approach and execution from project to project. Depending on the scope and complexity of the work, FRQNCY scales by assembling custom teams drawn from a broad network of editors, producers, hosts, and creative partners.

Teams are built to match the needs of each project while remaining anchored to unified workflows and standards of practice.

This approach has supported projects ranging from small, tightly produced series to transcontinental productions.

Making Sense of Complex Stories

Every project begins with editorial development. Narrative focus and structural decisions are established early to guide execution. From there, FRQNCY leads production across internal teams and external partners, often navigating complex logistical, institutional, and organizational constraints.

At FRQNCY, video and audio are equals. Visual storytelling is central to how audiences engage with information, while clarity depends on strong narrative structure and high-quality sound. Stories are developed with attention to structure, pacing, and restraint, ensuring that production choices offer understanding rather than distraction.
