About Our Wavelength

We’re FRQNCY Media, the audio production company for Jane Goodall’s “Hopecast,” Vox Creative’s “More Than This,” Diane von Furstenburg’s “InCharge With DVF,” Coca-Cola’s “Total Refresh,” Alicia Silverstone’s “The Real Heal”, and many others.

FRQNCY is a one-in-a-million blend of innovation, passion, and joy. We offer tailored audio production support including integrated services that take (super-skilled) care of content strategy, market research, production, editing, and marketing.

Meet Our CEO & Founder

Michelle Khouri is a podcast executive producer and audio entrepreneur. Michelle founded and singlehandedly bootstrapped FRQNCY Media in 2018 with the vision of making the audio industry inclusive and accessible to all voices who want to bring good into this world. She is a first-generation Colombian American who comes from a long line of entrepreneurs, musicians, and activists. Get to know her.

Culture and Purpose Come First

FRQNCY is a purpose-driven company. We value alignment, intention, diversity, kindness, determination, and clarity. Every new member of our team shares our same values with equal fervor. We unabashedly work every day to dismantle toxic patriarchal systems, including  Capitalism and white supremacy. You’ll experience that in our day-to-day conversations as we bring to the surface ego-driven, racist, or misogynistic programming that must be called out in order to be healed.

We focus on our people before all else. This means that all part-time positions are built to open doors for future expansion within the company. If you want to be a part of a company that is changing what it means to work, we should talk.

Oh, and we value joy. We wake up every day wondering how it is we got lucky enough to spend our days surrounded by compelling stories, cradled in beautiful sounds, and entrenched in opportunities to whip up innovative new pieces of audio for our clients.

The Right Fit

Our ideal part-time podcast producer is a deadline-driven, workflow-building, narrative-loving audiophile who’s aching for more inclusive, diverse, and higher quality content in the podcast industry. You know how to strike the balance between running a tight production schedule and communicating clearly and compassionately.

You are kind at your core, approach your work with diligence and intention, and have big ideas on how to make a production feel smooth to both our internal teams and also our clients. You are a clear communicator, especially when it comes to problem-solving with clients and setting boundaries around a production.

You will manage production workflows, timelines, and quality checks for FRQNCY clients, who range from multinational brands to global icons to high-growth startups, making sure every client gets the same level of care and service.

You will flex your superpowers in the following ways:

  • Manage recording sessions, guiding the host(s) to ensure key takeaways are captured and crucial topics are covered
  • Support the executive producer during recording sessions to flag pickups, capture best takes, and make note of cuts and action items
  • Manage, mentor, and collaborate with associate producers to ensure they are given appropriate guidance to support the production and opportunities to develop
  • Create smart run of shows and episode outlines to set hosts and talent up for success
  • Provide nuanced quality checks on all episode cuts that encourage consistently smooth cuts, high-quality mastering, artful sound design, and tactful pacing
  • Storyboard raw tape into a well-structured narrative that aligns with a production’s tone, voice, and format
  • Draft and review copy for scripted elements such as trailer, show intro, and episode intro scripts as needed
  • Build out and manage workflows and production timelines for new projects, and onboard new clients onto those systems
  • Ensure that all productions remain within the scope as their needs evolve over the course of the project’s phases of production
  • Oversee internal and external reviews and feedback cycles and approvals for episodes, ensuring clients deliver timely feedback to keep their production on track
  • Review copy for episode metadata such as episode titles and descriptions, and manage the distribution of audio deliverables
  • Maintain ongoing production timelines and workflows across teams, as well as ongoing client check-ins and updates
  • Provide remote recording guidance to host and guest leading up to recording sessions
  • Schedule in-studio and remote sessions, tape syncs, and mailing of equipment boxes
