FRQNCY Media Celebrates Two-Year Anniversary with New Look, Expanded Service Offerings and Continued Growth

TL;DR:

  • Award-winning podcast production company unveils new brand
  • Launches new website with double the service offerings, fresh redesign
  • Expands business model into audio innovation
  • Couples announcement with September celebration of International Podcast Month

ATLANTA – September 14, 2020 | For Atlanta-based FRQNCY Media (FRQNCY), there’s much to celebrate this September.

The burgeoning media company is commemorating the success of its second year in business with the rollout of its new look (and new services), highlighted by the launch of its new website. All in time for the September observance of International Podcast Month

Since FRQNCY’s founding in July 2018, the award-winning podcast production company has grown dramatically, producing audio series for high-profile clients such as The Coca-Cola Company (“Total Refresh”), fashion mogul Diane von Furstenberg (“InCharge With DVF”) and media giant Apple (“Raising the Torch”), while maintaining its commitment to opening doors for all podcasters, indie creators and Fortune 500s alike.

As FRQNCY faced the close of its sophomore year – punctuated by steady growth, industry accolades and an expanded team – it took the opportunity to reflect and plan for its future. What followed was the decision to evolve the brand so that the FRQNCY the world saw aligned with the FRQNCY the team envisioned.

“We gained a greater sense of FRQNCY and ourselves as a team coming out of our second year,” said Michelle Khouri, FRQNCY’s founder and CEO. “We wholeheartedly acknowledged our challenges and our gaps, embraced our strengths and have always been unapologetic about who we are and the value we provide to our clients and the industry.”

Mission Critical

FRQNCY dove into its rebrand, beginning with an examination of its mission, vision, values and purpose.

“It was gratifying to revisit the pillars of the company and realize how relevant they still are,” said Khouri who has bootstrapped the company single handedly since 2018.

“It was an amazing feeling to realize that the FRQNCY of today is actually the full expression of the vision I had for the company two years ago. That hasn’t changed. We’ve grown into ourselves. The rebrand feels more like a homecoming than a departure.”

Like its allegiance to its mission – to heal, enlighten, and uplift through the power of sound – and vision – a world united by sound, FRQNCY remains committed to its founding purpose – to democratize the podcast industry and create space for a diversity of voices and perspectives. To support this, FRQNCY has doubled its service offerings to include more opportunities for individuals, companies and organizations to create high-quality podcasts, including three new consulting packages, and two new research and strategy packages that expand on one of FRQNCY’s highest demand offerings: its signature content strategy package.

The evolution also reflects FRQNCY’s recent expansion into audio innovation, which has allowed FRQNCY to help clients like Ethena add value through experimental and often never-before-done audio content.

Designing the FRQNCY of the Future

To create the visual identity to match its renewed vision, FRQNCY enlisted Atlanta-based creative agency and consultancy Tantrum Agency. Led by industry veteran David Tann, Tantrum produced a new brand identity that reflected the growth and evolution of the company as well as its unique personality.

“From my first meeting with Michelle, I knew what she and FRQNCY were doing was special. I also knew it deserved a brand that was as big and distinctive as they were,” said Tann, who’s worked with powerhouse brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Bath & Body Works, Hallmark, the Atlanta Hawks and the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream.

“What we created is a FRQNCY style that is a playful combination of old and new. It reflects the cheerful and cheeky nature of the brand through bold pops of color, graphic elements and energetic expressions.”

One of the central elements of the rebrand is the nod to FRQNCY’s reverence for the power and legacy of sound. Prominent are emblems such as the phonograph, one of the first recording and sound reproduction devices, as well as references to iconic moments in audio history.
